Paragon Kilns

Paragon Kilns

Founded as a family company in 1948, Paragon Industries, L.P. is the leading manufacturer of electric kilns and furnaces. We focus on designing high quality standard and custom kilns for the ceramics, glass, porcelain, pottery, heat treating and metal art clay markets. We focus on quality and innovation to assure you that your Paragon kiln will produce reliable and consistent results. Paragon has invested for a long term commitment in the kiln market by developing a 52,000 square foot manufacturing facility staffed with over 70 full time employees, including two research and development engineers and five customer support agents.

Together with over 200 knowledgeable distribution partners operating in 17 countries, Paragon is able to deliver a more extensive product line than any competitor in our markets. Our post sales support includes long-term availability on replacement parts and educational seminars on kiln operation, maintenance, repair and advanced technical support. We are also producing videos so you can learn at home.

Paragon Xpress E & Q Kilns

Except for the Xpress-E-14A, the new Xpress E and Q series kilns can now ship by UPS. Enjoy much lower shipping cost and faster service than available for small kilns by truck freight. The Xpress E and Q series kilns feature a 3-key digital controller in the base. We eliminated the side-mounted switch box of earlier models to make the kilns more compact and easier to ship. Specially designed cartons and foam padding assure that the kilns will arrive in perfect condition. The front control panel is tilted for easy operation of the Sentry Xpress digital controller. Because these models no longer have the side-mounted switch box, they need less table-top space.

The Xpress-Q-11A fires to 2350°F on a common 120 volt outlet. It is ideal for enameling, silver clay, glass jewelry, beads, ceramics, stoneware, and porcelain, and glaze testing. The Xpress E-series are larger and ideal for enameling, silver clay, glass, beads, and low-fire ceramics. Heating elements, exposed in dropped, recessed insulating firebrick grooves, are easy to replace. Unlatch and open the door with one hand. No extra stand is needed. The built-in base stays cool even during extended holds.

Paragon Firefly & Caldera Kilns

The portable and convenient Paragon Firefly will give you unbridled freedom. It plugs in almost anywhere on a household 120 volt outlet. Take this kiln to seminars or on vacation. The firing results will thrill you. Create breathtaking glass bracelets and pendants in the 8" square x 4 1/2" high interior. Fire small glass casting molds and even drop molds. But you are not limited to glass. Fire porcelain or stoneware pendants and beads. Test glazes. The kiln has plenty of power to reach 2350 degrees F.

Fire silver clay, china, ceramics, copper enameling, and glass in the Paragon Calderas. They make glass compatibility and color tests fast and easy. They fire rapidly on 120 volts to 2350°F/1287°C. With a separate top and bottom, they are stackable and completely portable. They come in manual and digital versions.

Digital Caldera
The digital Caldera comes with the Sentry Xpress controller. It fires up to 8 segments in Ramp-Hold. Each segment includes target temperature, rate, and hold. Control both heating and cooling with simple 3-key operation. Fire ceramics with easy-to-master Cone-Fire mode.

Caldera-E Collar
The Caldera-E adds 6¾" of height to the Caldera or Caldera-S. The tall 7 ½" x 4" door is large enough to conveniently fire copper enameling. You can even anneal glass figurines and beads with this collar.

Paragon Home Artist Kiln

The Paragon Home Artist Kiln will transform your creative expression into permanent fired ceramic art. This is the same process used by ceramic artists for thousands of years. Paints are transformed into vibrant colors. Imagine owning a kiln that will fire permanent, food-safe glazes.

The magic of the heat will continually delight and surprise you. After the kiln has cooled, the transformed ware is never exactly as you expected it.

The Home Artist Kiln plugs into a standard 120 volt household outlet. It weighs only 38 pounds. With the click of a button, the built-in luggage carrier snaps upright for easy moving. The kiln even includes wheels. Seminar teachers will appreciate a kiln they can take anywhere.

The stainless steel jacket is vented to lower the surface temperature. A latch holds the lid securely closed. A safety switch is located on the side of the electrical box.
A built-in fuse protects the controller. The firing chamber is made of space-age ceramic fiber. This insulation is noted for energy efficiency.

The Home Artist Kiln operates with the simplicity of a microwave oven. The three-button controller heats at the speed and temperature you select. An easy step-by-step instruction guide comes with the Home Artist Kiln so you can program your kiln for the different types of art you create: clay, ceramic glaze, china paint, and more.

Paragon Janus Kilns

The new Paragon Janus-series kilns can fire both pottery and glass. Heating elements are mounted in the top and sidewalls.

Select between glass and pottery with the flip of a switch. With the switch in the glass position, heat comes from the top elements and the middle sidewall element. With the switch in the pottery position, heat comes from only the sidewall elements.

In the glass mode, fuse and sag large glass projects placed on a single shelf. In the pottery mode, fire to cone 10. You can also fire several shelves of smaller glass pieces using the pottery mode.

The elements in the lid/roof are mounted in a firebrick "ball" groove that eliminates element pins. The element coils are wider than the groove opening, so the elements stay in place without pins. The groove dissipates heat efficiently.

The lid on the Janus-23 and Janus-27 top-loading kilns are easy to lift with the exclusive, patented Paragon spring counter-balance. For easier maintenance, we use 2" high blank wall bricks in the top row of the Janus-23 and Janus-27. Since the brick is without element grooves, it is less susceptible to damage during loading. The patented control box on the Janus-23 and Janus-27 opens forward for easy maintenance. A folding support arm holds the box in the open position.
